Better Jump Controls 4 YouTube by Daniel
Configurable keyboard seek for YouTube. Define your own key combos (Ctrl/Option/Shift/Cmd) and how many milliseconds each one jumps, from a toolbar popup.
Extension Metadata
About this extension
YouTube decides how far your arrow keys jump. This add-on gives that control back to you.
YouTube hard-codes its keyboard seeking to 5 seconds and offers no way to change it. Better Jump Controls replaces it with jumps you define yourself, down to the millisecond.
Open the toolbar popup and build your own combinations:
• Choose the modifiers for each combo: Ctrl, Option/Alt, Shift, Cmd. Or just hit Record and press the keys.
• Set the exact jump in milliseconds, with a live seconds readout as you type.
• Add as many combos as you want and remove the ones you don't.
Left arrow jumps back, right arrow jumps forward. Any combo you haven't defined is left alone, so everything else on YouTube keeps working exactly as before.
Sensible defaults to start:
• Arrow keys → 500 ms, for fine, almost frame-by-frame nudging
• Option + Arrow → 5 seconds
• Option + Shift + Arrow → 15 seconds
Your settings sync through your Firefox account and apply instantly to every open YouTube tab.
Private by design. No data is collected, transmitted, or tracked. The add-on only reads your saved key settings and seeks the video player on youtube.com. Nothing else.
