About this extension
Thank you for reviewing BlurPage.
PURPOSE
BlurPage lets users blur or pixelate sensitive content on live webpages (and on-page images) before screenshots, screen sharing, or social posts. Masks are stored locally per URL in browser storage.
PERMISSIONS
- <all_urls>: Inject content scripts only to render user-created blur/mosaic overlays on pages the user is viewing. We do not read or transmit page content to our servers.
- storage: Save mask layout and license state locally.
- activeTab / scripting: Popup and toolbar UI; capture visible tab only when the user starts drag-to-screenshot.
- https://blurpage.online/*: License activation and validation only (user-provided license key over HTTPS).
DATA COLLECTION (manifest)
authenticationInfo is declared because Pro license activation/validation sends the user-entered license key to https://blurpage.online (Mosaic License Proxy). No webpage content or screenshots are uploaded.
FIREFOX BUILD
This package uses background.scripts (not service_worker). Minimum Firefox 140 / Android 142 per data_collection_permissions.
HOW TO TEST
1. Install and open any webpage.
2. Click the extension icon → enable masking.
3. Click elements or drag a rectangle to blur; reload page — masks should persist for the same URL.
4. Free tier: 3 click masks + 1 area mask per page; Pro requires a license key from https://blurpage.online/shop/
Privacy: https://blurpage.online/privacy-policy/
