About this extension
G.A.I.N. (Govern Artificial Intelligence Now) helps people and teams use AI tools like ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and Copilot without leaking sensitive data.
It runs entirely on your device: as you type or paste into a supported AI tool, G.A.I.N. detects sensitive data and redacts or blocks it before it's sent — API keys, passwords, private keys, database connection strings, credit-card numbers, IBANs, national IDs, and more.
Privacy-first by design:
- Detection and redaction run locally in your browser.
- Only event metadata (e.g. "an API key was redacted on chatgpt.com") is ever transmitted — never your prompts, never the sensitive values themselves.
- No keystroke logging, no screenshots, no browsing activity outside supported AI tools.
For teams: connect to the G.A.I.N. dashboard with an organization key to set central policies, see where AI is being used, and generate Trust Reports for clients and auditors. Used without an account, G.A.I.N. still protects you locally with sensible defaults.
