    Released Jun 24, 2026 - 328.82 KB
Works with firefox 109.0 and later
    • Clear message when the AI provider is overloaded (HTTP 503 "high demand" from Gemini/OpenAI/Groq, or 529 "overloaded" from Anthropic). Previously it fell back to the generic "Something went wrong. Try again", which looked like an error on our end. Now it warns that the provider is experiencing heavy demand at that moment and offers only the Retry button (no Report, since it isn't a bug on our side). This is distinct from the usage limit (429), which still has its own message.
    • The "Open the provider's site" button (onboarding and Settings) now opens each provider's API keys page directly, instead of its generic panel/dashboard. Before, with Gemini for example, it opened the Google AI Studio Playground screen and you had to find "Get API key" by hand.
    • Clear error when the selected provider has no access code. Before, if you switched providers in Settings without entering a code, "Save changes" said "Changes saved" anyway, and when you tried to analyze a place it sent you to onboarding (confusing if you were already set up with another provider). Now: Save warns that the code is missing for that provider; and when analyzing, the popup and the in-page panel show an error with a "Go to settings" action instead of re-onboarding you. Onboarding only opens for genuinely new users (without any saved code). In addition, the code check now runs before reading the reviews, so you don't waste minutes of scrolling only to fail at the end.
    • The "Auto (system)" theme option was removed from the Appearance selector. The default theme is now Mapiris (which was already the base palette). Anyone who had "Auto" selected now sees the Mapiris theme automatically.

    • More consistent, higher-contrast scores. The prompt now explicitly sets the 0–10 scale with anchors (9–10 exceptional, 7–8 good, 5–6 mediocre, etc.) and asks the model to judge each aspect separately instead of just transcribing the place's average star rating. Previously the scale was left undefined: the model sometimes returned 0–5 values (which left the bars at half-mast despite being high scores) and sometimes 0–10, and all aspects tended toward the same number. Only the prompt changed; the render already assumed 0–10.
    • The button no longer appears above the results list when opening a place from a search. Previously, clicking a result while the search list was still visible anchored the button to the "Results" heading instead of to the place's listing. Now it always anchors to the listing title (the h1 outside the results feed).
    • The button no longer appears in a place's photo gallery / Street View (the URL is still /maps/place/..., but there are no reviews to read). Previously the button showed up there and, when clicked, the scraper got stuck in a loop looking for a nonexistent reviews tab and ended in the generic "couldn't read the reviews" error. The gallery is detected by the immersive pose in the URL and by the arrow carousel ([role="navigation"]); the button reappears when the gallery is closed.
