QR Region Scanner by CadieuxPaquinR

QR Region Scanner lets you read a QR code anywhere in your browser without a phone or a separate app.

Press the keyboard shortcut (default Ctrl+Shift+Y) or click the toolbar button, drag a rectangle over
the QR code, and the extension decodes it instantly:

• If the code is a web link, it opens in a new tab.
• If it is anything else (plain text, WiFi details, and so on), the text is copied to your clipboard and shown in a notification.

Key features:

• Works on normal web pages, and also on pages other extensions cannot reach, such as Firefox's built-in PDF viewer and reader mode. On those pages it takes a quick screenshot of the tab and lets you select the region on the captured image.
• Configurable shortcut. Set your own key combination in the add-on preferences.
• Fast, private, and offline. Decoding happens entirely on your device. The extension makes no network requests and collects no data.
• Minimal permissions. It only reads the current tab when you trigger a scan.

Note: a browser extension can only see the content of the current tab, so it cannot scan the browser's own interface, other windows, or your desktop. A few fully privileged pages (such as about:pages and addons.mozilla.org) cannot be captured, but they do not contain QR codes anyway.

Uses the open-source jsQR library (MIT) for decoding.
