Privacy Policy — TMSync
Last updated: 2026-06-25
TMSync is a browser extension that detects what you are watching on
streaming sites and records it to your own media-tracking accounts.
What TMSync handles
- Authentication tokens: When you connect Trakt and/or AniList, OAuth
tokens are stored locally in your browser and sent only to Trakt/AniList
to record your activity. They are never sent anywhere else.
- Viewing activity: The title, season/episode, and playback progress of
what you watch on sites you enable. This is sent only to the one tracker
it is routed to — movies and non-anime TV to Trakt, anime series to
AniList — to update your own history/progress.
What TMSync does NOT do
- No backend: TMSync has no server. Your viewing activity and tokens are
never collected by the developer or any third party.
- No selling or sharing: Your data is never sold, rented, or transferred
to anyone other than the tracker account you yourself connected.
- No analytics or tracking of you.
Site definitions ("recipes") are fetched as public, anonymous data from a
public repository; these requests contain no personal or viewing data.
Data retention: Tokens and caches live in your browser's local storage
until you disconnect an account or remove the extension.
